Kris Martin and her husband, Randy, spent eight years caregiving for their own parents until their health needs became more complex and beyond the scope of the Martins’ abilities. Help had to be brought in. Kris became very aware of the benefits of having caregivers in their parents’ homes. The peace of mind it provided to Kris & her family and the comfort it gave to their parents was invaluable. These experiences and the desire to assist other families with loved ones in need of care at home led Kris to enter the home care industry. Kris and Randy opened Homewatch CareGivers to provide caregiving services in the Conejo Valley, Ventura County and San Fernando Valley.
At an age when most people retire, the Martins became first-time entrepreneurs and opened Homewatch CareGivers, to provide caregiving services in Ventura and west Los Angeles County. This began a very deep commitment to working with dementia and Alzheimer’s causes, combined with participation in numerous civic organizations. Kris Martin serves on several committees in the Cornejo Valley and Ventura County that focus on educating and helping families get the resources for their aging parents.
